Data & Cookie Policy

Closed Beta • Last Updated: 15 September 2026

The short version. This website sets no cookies of its own, runs no analytics, and has no advertising trackers. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

1. This website

We want to be specific rather than vague, because "we value your privacy" means nothing on its own. As of the date above, this website contains:

  • No analytics. No Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Fathom, no Umami, no Mixpanel, no PostHog.
  • No advertising or social trackers. No Meta Pixel, no TikTok pixel, no conversion tags, no retargeting.
  • No cookies set by us. Nothing on this site reads or writes cookies, local storage or session storage.
  • No third-party fonts or icon CDNs. Our typefaces and icons are served from our own servers, so loading this page does not tell Google, Adobe or anyone else that you visited.
  • No embedded media. No YouTube or Vimeo players, no social embeds, no iframes.

2. What does get processed

Two things, neither of which we control directly:

  • Hosting logs. This site is served through Netlify and Cloudflare. Like any web host, they process the IP address and request details of visitors in order to serve pages and block abuse.
  • Cloudflare bot management. Cloudflare may set a __cf_bm cookie to distinguish humans from automated traffic. It is strictly functional, short-lived, and is not used to profile or advertise to you.

If you fill in the waitlist form, the email address you type is submitted and stored so we can contact you about the beta. Nothing else on the page collects anything.

3. The Relay app

The mobile app is a different matter, because it has to do real work. On your device it stores:

  • Your session token, in the device's encrypted secure storage, so you stay signed in.
  • A draft of a job you have started writing, so that taking a phone call does not lose it. It is kept for a week and then discarded, it never leaves your device, and nothing exists on our side until you actually post the job.
  • Small local preferences — whether you have already seen the welcome walkthrough, and which finished jobs you have cleared from your home screen — so it does not repeat itself.

The app requests these device permissions, and only these:

  • Location — used to record GPS check-ins only while a job you accepted is actively in progress, and, if you ask it to, to centre the map on where you are when choosing an address. Neither happens without your permission, and the app does not track location in the background or between jobs.
  • Camera and photos — used when you choose to submit an identity document or a verification selfie, when you attach pictures to a job, and when we ask for a photograph as a job changes hands. Every one of those is a choice: declining leaves the rest of the app working, and you can complete any job without taking a single picture.
  • Internet access — to talk to Relay's servers.

What the app sends to our servers, why, and how long it is kept is covered in the Privacy Policy. The short version worth repeating here: job records are permanent and cannot be deleted.

4. Changes

If we ever add analytics or any third-party script to this site, we will update this page and say so plainly, rather than quietly adding a cookie banner and hoping you click through it.
