Terms of Service

1. Platform Nature

Relay ("The Platform") is a technology utility that connects independent Runners with Clients. Relay acts as a software platform and communication layer. Relay is not a transportation carrier, a logistics provider, or a bank.

2. Payments & Funds

Relay facilitates payments but does not hold user funds in a custodial capacity.

• All payments are processed by Stripe via Connected Accounts.
• When a job is posted, funds are "Authorized" (reserved) by the Client's bank.
• Funds are "Captured" (charged and transferred) only upon confirmation of job completion.
• If a job is cancelled before completion, the Authorization is voided; no charge is made.

Relay stores transaction references only (e.g., Payment Intent IDs), not card details.

3. Liability Limitation

By using the Pilot, you acknowledge that:

• Runners are independent freelancers. They are not employees of Relay.
• Relay provides identity verification and tracking tools, but does not insure goods.
• Relay is not liable for goods lost, stolen, or damaged during the run.
• Our maximum liability is limited to the Service Fee collected by Relay for the specific transaction in dispute.

4. Identity Accuracy

You agree to provide accurate, legal identity information (Name, Date of Birth, Gender) as it appears on your government-issued ID. Providing false identity information is a violation of these terms and will result in immediate suspension.

5. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute (e.g., non-delivery), Relay may review available telemetry data (GPS logs, chat history, scan timestamps) to determine whether job completion is verified. Based on this verification status, Relay may initiate payment capture or void through Stripe.

6. Prohibited Items

You may not use Relay to transport: Illegal substances, weapons, hazardous materials, high-value cash, or live animals.
